Ice Skating

As a surprise to Jack, Jon and I took him out for a special excursion sans Jason- we went ice skating! It was his first time on the ice, and he was slightly less than graceful.

He spent about 90% of his ice time hugging the wall!

Jon and I took turns skating him around the ice. He really never grasped the concept of gliding, and kept trying to walk/run on the ice, which didn't work out too well for him.

After about 30 minutes of this we were all exhausted! Who knew it'd be so much work to skate your kid around the ice?! But it was a fun and new experience for Jack, and it was special to be out with just him and Mommy and Daddy. After skating, we bought him a Godiva chocolate lollipop, which was delicious, and totally wasted on him. He didn't appreciate the fancy lollipop, and we probably would have been better off buying him a bag of m&m's! And to top off our "date" we stopped by Target and bought Jack his new, big-boy booster seat for the car. What a great afternoon!
