Jack had his 1st day of Pre-K a couple of weeks ago, and did great. I had a hard time getting him to smile for the camera, since he was a little unsure of the whole going back to school again.
Coloring a picture while class got started-
After school, posing in front of the same tree as last year's 1st day pic-
I captured a smile!
So far, he's done very well in school, getting stamps in his folder everyday (meaning he listened and did his tasks for the day) and even coming home with toys from the classroom's treasure chest on Fridays. He LOVES the treasure chest. I'm thinking it's a genius idea for encouraging good behavior, and am going to initiate a similar system at home.
The other day, I heard Jack reciting the days of the week, "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday!" I was uber impressed, and am crediting school for it since we really don't talk about the days of the week much at home. He's also really into singing the alphabet, and reading books. He's learning and growing so much now; it's exciting to see!
And this has nothing to do with school, but I want to remember. Yesterday, as we drove past Home Depot, Jack pointed to the store and said "that's for Daddy." He was very matter of fact about it. Apparently, he already knows that home improvement stores are masculine in nature.

Aww! This makes me so sad and happy and proud! How is he old enough to be at school? Can we please slow things down a bit?!
(btw, Jack is super handsome- not that I'm biased in any way!)
