Mob Mentality (noun):
the behavior of a large crowd of people, a group of people who are solely followers. How people are influenced by their peers to adopt certain behaviors and follow trends.
Mob Mentality (adjective):
describing how my children Jack and Jason behave when together.
Do you remember studying the concept of mob mentality in school? It's usually associated with negative behaviors resulting in violent situations, where people get sucked into the momentum of the mob, and act differently than they typically would. Well, while watching my boys play at the park the other day, it hit me that this concept perfectly describes how they behave when together. Separately, they are sane, sweet boys. Together, they morph into wild children, engaging in behaviors they would otherwise not normally engage in, i.e. biting, screaming, standing on and jumping on furniture, and general shenanigans. Oh yes, the shenanigans. The things these 2 dream up while together baffles me.
And I just added a third to the bunch. I'm in trouble.

I'm right there with you, Erin! ...and don't think that just because I have girls I don't know what you're talking about. :) I do...trust me, I do. In fact, just last night...all three of them (yes, the baby was helping) were dumping out almost the entire box of Cheerios and smashing them all over the entire kitchen floor. You may ask, where was I? Well, I was talking to my mother-in-law on the phone, so yes, it's partly my fault that it happened. And thank goodness it was only Cheerios and super easy to clean up. :)
